AGGIE MEN’S BASKETBALL VS. GEORGIA
A stellar performance by Georgia’s freshman guard, Anthony Edwards, snaps the Aggie’s three-game road winning streak. Edwards, the top-scoring freshman in the nation led his team with a double-double of 29 points and 15 rebounds to beat the Aggie’s 63-48. This loss puts Texas A&M at 10-10 on the season and 4-4 in conference play. Wendell Mitchell led the Aggie’s with 13 points and Andre Gordon added 10. The Bulldogs had nearly double the number of turnovers (14) as they did baskets (8) in the first half. However, the Aggie’s shot only 25% from the field in the first half, leaving them trailing by three heading into halftime 24-21. Both teams had a better offensive second-half but the game was controlled by Anthony Edwards, and there was no changing that. The Bulldogs outrebounded the Aggies 44-34 holding them to just 32.2% from the field. Although the Aggie’s haven’t found consistency or rhythm so far this season, they look forward to being back at Reed Arena when they host Mizzou Tuesday night, February 4.
