AGGIE MEN’S BASKETBALL VS. ARKANSAS
The Texas A&M Aggies didn’t ring in the new year as they would’ve hoped. The Aggies fell to the Arkansas Razorbacks 69-59 in the Southeastern Conference opener on Saturday night to a sellout crowd at Bud Walton Arena. The starting line up consisted of Savion Flagg, Emanuel Miller, Wendell Mitchell, Andre Gordon, and Josh Nebo for the second time this season. The game was tied 30-30 with 2:46 remaining in the first half, before the Razorbacks went on a 12-3 run heading into the half to take a 42-33 lead. Texas A&M came out strong in the second half cutting the 9-point deficit to 2 with 13:11 remaining. However, the Aggies were never able to fully recover with 11 turnovers in the second half paired with a scoring drought for the last 3:36 left in the game. The Aggies shot 46.7% (21-of-45) from the field, which marked the third highest shooting percentage for a game this season but a low 28.6% (4-of-14) from behind the arc. Freshman guard, Andre Gordon held a team-high 15-points and Senior guard, Wendell Mitchell added 13. Josh Nebo recorded his fourth double-double of the season with 10-points and 13 rebounds. Texas A&M Aggies move to 6-6 for the season and look to get their first conference win as they host Ole Miss on January 7th at Reed Arena.
