AGGIE MEN'S BASKETBALL VS ARKANSAS

The Texas A&M Aggies closed out the regular season with a revenge-victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks, 77-69, on Saturday, March 7. Senior Night proved to be a big one, the senior duo of Wendell Mitchell and Josh Nebo ended their college career with a bang. Mitchell scored 25 points and Nebo finished with 20. Texas A&M outrebounded the Razorbacks 24-9 and closed out the first half on an electric 12-2 run heading into halftime leading 33-30. Buzz Williams commented on the atmosphere, “I thought it was as lively as Reed Arena has been in my tenure here,” he said. The Hogs were outscored 44-39 by the Aggies in the second half. Quenton Jackson sealed the game with a lob-pass dunk from Mitchell with 2:13 remaining to extend the lead to 71-60. The Aggies had a “buzz-worthy” season under first-year head coach Buzz Williams. Texas A&M finished the season 10-8 and 16-14 in conference play. The Aggies clinched the No. 7 seed to play No. 10 Missouri in the quarterfinals of the SEC tournament on Thursday, March 12, in Nashville, Tennessee.
