AGGIE MEN'S BASKETBALL VS. KENTUCKY
The Texas A&M Aggies snapped their three-game winning streak in losing to No 8. Kentucky, 69-60 on Tuesday, February 25. Both teams started the game with a flame under them, scoring more points in the first five minutes than they did for the rest of the half. Kentucky had 8 turnovers in the first half but was able to lock up on defense to keep the lead heading into halftime, 36-27. Texas A&M held Kentucky to just 21 points in the first 18 minutes of the second half. However, defense isn’t the only part of the equation to winning. The Aggies weren’t able to find their rhythm offensively: coming up empty on several possessions. Although they were able to cut the largest lead of the game from 14 down to 7 with 3:57 left to play, the Wildcats’ reigning SEC player of the week, Immanuel Quickley, made sure their lead didn’t dwindle, Quickley hit two big shots to seal the win, ending the night with 30 points. Texas A&M looks to move past this loss as they focus on facing LSU on Saturday, February 29 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
