AGGIES IN REVIEW – BY: GEORGE KOPF ’22 WEEK OF OCT. 8TH

Football gets ready to face off against #1 Alabama, volleyball split their road trip, soccer picked up their first SEC loss of the season, and golf had another solid finish in this week’s “Aggies in Review.” Here are the details from last week’s action.

Football

The Aggies (3-2, 1-1 SEC) were off this week, as they get ready to welcome in top-ranked Alabama and a national TV presence for the SEC on CBS Game of the Week. The Crimson Tide (5-0, 2-0) were also on their open week, and thus both teams will be back to action. With a projected 69°F temperature at kickoff, you can guarantee that Kyle Field, the student section, and the rest of the 102,000 people inside will be enjoying the nice weather as well as providing the noise in undoubtedly the most important home game of the year. For those tailgating or not headed to Kyle Field, coverage of the game starts at 2:30 PM on CBS.

Women’s Volleyball

The weekend road trip continued for the Lady Aggies as they went for a 1-1 split against Arkansas and #22 Missouri. After playing in some tough atmospheres, the Aggies (10-4, 2-2 SEC) are returning back to College Station to play South Carolina (10-6, 2-2) at Reed Arena. The match starts at 8 PM, Friday on the SEC Network.

Women’s Soccer

The undefeated SEC record is no more for the Aggies (9-2-2, 3-1 SEC), taking a loss to the Florida Gators in Gainesville, FL. They return to the friendly confines of Ellis Field and put their home unbeaten record on the line; they will face Alabama at 6:30 PM on Thursday.

Men’s Golf

At the time of writing, the Aggie Men completed their final round at the Maridoe Intercollegiate Tournament, hosted by North Texas. With a total score of 906 (+42), they currently sit tied for fourth, out of 12 teams, with San Francisco. With the strong finish, they take a break, but look to keep that momentum and travel to Atlanta to a tournament hosted by Georgia Tech during the weekend of October 18th-20th.
